There was no real distinction in Modernisme between the fine and the applied arts. The appreciation of work by craftsmen, as opposed to mass-produced pieces, ran parallel to the adoption of the new aesthetic in all fields. Pottery and chinaware, precious metalwork, wrought ironwork, stained-glass windows and furniture design and making were all imbued with the Modernista ideal of beauty and produced unique works.
